The first distillery on the Outer Banks, nestled in a historic 1946 brick building in downtown Manteo. Outer Banks Distilling crafts small-batch Kill Devil Rum — named after the colonial-era term for rum that washed ashore from shipwrecks along the Graveyard of the Atlantic and gave Kill Devil Hills its name. Tour the distillery, taste the rum, and have a handcrafted cocktail at the Wheelhouse Lounge. One of the most genuinely interesting stops on Roanoke Island.
