Island Farm
A living history farm on Roanoke Island telling the story of everyday OBX life in the 1850s through the lens of the Etheridge family — one of the island's most significant families whose descendants helped with the Wright Brothers' flights, served in the US Life-Saving Service, and farmed this land for generations. Thirteen acres of the original 1,500-acre farm preserved and brought to life with demonstrations, animals, and period-accurate storytelling. One of the most genuinely interesting and underrated historical stops on the OBX.
