Bodie Island Lighthouse
The horizontally striped Bodie Island Lighthouse is one of the most photographed structures on the Outer Banks. The third attempt — the first leaned, Confederate troops blew up the second — this 1872 tower has been guiding ships ever since. Beautifully situated on the soundside within Cape Hatteras National Seashore, easy parking, gorgeous setting. Climb it when open for a classic OBX experience.
