Avon Fishing Pier
A Hatteras Island landmark since 1963, Avon Pier stretches 600 feet into the Atlantic along one of the best fishing stretches on the East Coast. Red drum, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, flounder, pompano, and more run through these waters year-round thanks to the deep currents and shifting sandbars just offshore. Non-anglers are welcome too — the ocean views are worth the walk out.
